an alternative vintage wedding at Fallon & Byrne Dublin with a green wedding dress!

This past year I've been so lucky to be able to photograph some fun fabulous weddings, and I have to say that Siobhan and Mick are one of my favourite couples. Favourite because they are fun and original, artsy and wonderful, and just because they are so genuinely in love. Feast your eyes on their colorful eye candy of a wedding recently at Fallon and Byrne in Dublin. The getting-ready scenes are at the famous Arts and Crafts era hotel, The Clarence Hotel, which is owned by Bono and The Edge of U2. And watch out for more of this fantastic wedding on another blog soon :)

anne and brian's evening wedding celebration at the strand hotel, limerick

Anne and Brian recently celebrated their marriage with family and friends in Limerick at the riverside Strand Hotel. They had previously tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Florence Italy at The Pallazzo Vecchio (insanely jealous! This must have been beautiful!). I was honoured to have been at their Limerick celebration upon return from Italy. This was arranged by a talented wedding planner, Claire Barry of White Sage Events. Claire and Anne really put some unique and beautiful touches into this evening wedding celebration. From little pastries brought back from Italy, to gorgeous little tarts made in Ireland, and flowers arranged by Anne's mother, there was a lot of eye-candy to photograph at the venue. Anne did the desserts table herself!
Even though it rained and we weren't able to go outside for photographs, I happily found some little balconies that provided shelter and a lovely backdrop for some photos. The cool colours of the balcony backgrounds complemented Anne and Brian's eye colours and really made Anne's luscious red lips stand out (I think Anne might start a trend here for beautiful Irish brides with naturally creamy skin and red lips! Irish brides, you don't need the faketan because your natural skin colour is lovely).
The crowd of people at this wedding were so welcoming and so much fun, that I could have stayed there all night joining in on the celebration. Congratulations to Anne and Brian, and to Claire who launches White Sage Events next month!

naz & lilian's turkish/french wedding at the historic shelbourne dublin

Very recently, I had a little afternoon of Turkish and French photographic delight at the Shelbourne Hotel wedding of Naz and Lilian. Naz's family and friends came all the way to Dublin from Turkey to celebrate in style. Naz's two best friends from Turkey, Ozge and Orkun, helped with the preparations. Naz's mom, the very talented Zehra, made gorgeous corsages, flower pins, and the ribbon decorations on the chairs. Her parents also brought along her French couture dress from Beyaz Boutique in Ankara, and her mother's antique French lace veil from her own wedding. The cute customised cake-topper and cookie favours (with a Turkish evil eye nazar amulet) were also brought from Turkey designed by Zeynep Yumlu at Mutlu Dukkan.
Lilian's family came from France to join the celebration. His brother Arnaud was the best man. Lilian apparently has a sweet tooth and loves the Queen of Tarts patisserie in Dublin, and so the cupcakes came from there.

I had such a great time with Naz and Lilian and their guests, and Rodolphe from Best Day Productions who is making a super-cool video of their day. There were so many lovely details from the wedding that I hope another publication will share them too.
A big thank you to Naz and Lilian, and the very best wishes for your future!

kerstin and jimmy's wedding with a bit of tech, retro, beach and graffiti...Windmill Lane Dublin

Kerstin and Jimmy live near Windmill Lane in Dublin, which is where there is a famous old recording studio used in the 80s by U2 and Enya (have a look at this article for the musical history). The street has been totally covered in graffiti by fans and is really cool for a retro 80s backdrop. Kerstin and Jimmy prepared for their Dublin Registry Office civil ceremony at the apartment, and they had the company of their closest friends and Kerstin's brother. After the ceremony, we went to Malahide for some photos on the beach and then on to an inside location for some shots.

Kerstin is a talented crafter as she made her own brooch bouquet, invitations, and the labels for their self-brewed kombucha favours! Their friend Jose, who was in attendance on the day, supplied them with their fantastic rings handmade by his father in Spain. A big hug to Kerstin and Jimmy and have a fabulous time in the rest of your wedding celebrations across the world!
