Jen and Mark's 6 month nostalgic anniversary shoot in county westmeath

Jen and Mark are a fantastic couple, and I feel like over the past year we've become great friends. I photographed their beautiful Christmas wedding at Middleton Park House this past December (you might have seen it on One Fab Day or the June issue of Stellar magazine). They had wanted to do an engagement shoot before the wedding, but we just didn't get the chance to do it. So when I suggested the idea of an 'anniversary' shoot, a 6-month anniversary shoot to be precise, they were really keen to be captured at their lovely home in County Westmeath. I was in photographic heaven again as Jen and Mark are keen DIYers and also antique-lovers. They made the tiled table in the picture below!
Their home was just the right place for the 'nostalgic' shoot we had in mind, and they even have a picture-perfect folk park across the road where we got some very Irish cottagey shots.

This was my first shoot done entirely in film and I love the results! I used a Mamiya 645 AFd for all shots with a combo of Fujifilm Pro 400H, Portra 800, and Ilford XP2. If you'd love to capture your moment in time on beautiful film, please send me a note. And enjoy!

leah and gavin's wedding at the city north hotel

Leah and Gavin are a such a sweet couple and I was thrilled to photograph their wedding recently at The City North Hotel. They had an amazing vintage wedding car which had been owned by James Bond himself, Roger Moore. Thanks again to Leah and Gavin and I wish you all the best in your new life together as husband and wife!

sneak peek of a anniversary shoot done in film

I did a 100% film 6-Month Anniversary shoot recently for one of my favorite wedding couples from 2011, Jen and Mark. We didn't get the chance to do an engagement shoot before the wedding, so we did their anniversary shoot in May. Camera used was a Mamiya 645 AFd with Fujifilm 400H and Portra. Full blog post to come soon!

pretty cottages in Adare, County Limerick, Ireland

Adare is a pretty village in County Limerick with rows of traditional thatch-roofed cottages along the main street. I was there in May after photographing a wedding and used Kodak Portra film to photograph these shots with my Mamiya 645.

maeve and niall, happy in love at the woodlands hotel limerick

Maeve and Niall were a joy to photograph at their wedding in Castletroy and The Woodlands Hotel in Adare, County Limerick. They are so happy and in love, and were clearly meant to be together. Everytime I peeped at Maeve through my camera's viewfinder, she was beaming. The bridesmaids were dressed in a beautiful soft sage green, and there were lots of happy children there enjoying the day with their parents. And, I do have to say this was the first wedding where the groom's right hand man, was a dashing pink-haired woman! Check out her gorgeous suit which was hand-tailored in Australia! A big hug to Maeve and Niall and congratulations on your wedding and your new life together!

katie and paul's elegant wedding at mt. juliet, kilkenny

I love gorgeous weddings! I feel so privileged to be invited to photograph one of the most important days of a couple's life. It's such a big responsibility, and I really feel honoured to be part of the wedding day. When I first met Katie and Paul last Spring, I could see that they were beautiful people inside and out. I knew that their wedding would be filled with love and beauty! While it rained a bit for the ceremony at the church in Iniostige (where the film Circle of Friends was set), the beautiful umbrellas everyone carried really brightened things up. At Mt. Juliet during the group pictures, the girls pulled out a collection of cute little pinwheels they'd made the night before. It was a brilliant idea for their pictures! I'm not sure the guys were so convincing with them, but I loved their "tiger" poses! I have so many shots from the day, including a selection done on traditional medium format film which I've included here. A big hug to Katie and Paul and I wish you all the happiness for your future! Watch out for a video of this wedding from Best Day Productions and a blog post by Christine Burns the second shooter in the near future.
