10pm Sunset on The Curragh, County Kildare, Ireland

When I was coming home from a late evening photographing a wedding in County Carlow in mid-May, I noticed the beautiful dusk sky and landscape of the Curragh. Since I had my cameras, and no kids in the car, I decided to pull over and take some pictures. It was nearly 10pm and the sun was just on the horizon. The top picture is looking toward the direction of Kilcullen with Donnelly's Hollow on the right ( http://www.curragh.info/landmarks/donnelly.htm ). This is where a famous bare-knuckle boxing fight took place in the early 19th century. Apparently, Mr. Donnelly's huge arm is on display at the Hide-Out Pub in Kilcullen. I've heard it's been on tour in America as well.

This is the entrance to the Old Military Cemetary up on the hill to the right of the 1st photograph. See this for more information http://www.curragh.info/landmarks/cemetery.htm. There are beautiful headstones here and many are of importance to Irish history.  The irish military train at the Curragh.

And this is my favourite picture. I love the colours of the grass, sky, and plants. It's really fantastic to live about 5 minutes away from a place of such scenic beauty.
