emily and ian's elegant wedding at barberstown castle county kildare

Ireland has tons of beautiful venues to get married in and one of those is Barberstown Castle in Straffan, County Kildare. Emily and Ian recently had their civil ceremony at the castle and entertained guests from here and abroad with a fantastic weekend. Emily got ready at her parent's house in Glenageary, County Dublin. There was such a beautiful warm feel to the bridal preparations in a home filled with family and friends. And I really loved the paintings by Sarah, Emily's mom. So sweet! Emily designed her vintage-style lace gown with DePaor Designs of County Wicklow. She also designed the birdcage veil and the bridesmaid and flower girl dresses there. Fab! And this is the first time I've seen a bride wear a 4 euro pair of Penney's ballet flats. Tall elegant brides like Emily show that this is not impossible.
Ian waited patiently for his bride and I love the look of love he gives Emily when seeing her for the first time. Barberstown Castle is a lovely setting for a civil ceremony and reception. Thank you to all, especially Emily and Ian. Congratulations on your new life together!

elisha and neil, and their cat missy :)

Over the past year, largely due to social networking like Twitter and Facebook, I've made some fab friends within the wedding industry here in Ireland. That's how I met Elisha Clarke, a fantastic photographer and artist (that's her with the little Angry Birds paintings she made to decorate the house she shares with her boyfriend Neil). Elisha also 2nd shot with me on a wedding this past August (here), and hopefully I'll get to tag along with her soon.
After my computer started acting strangely a couple months ago, I ask Elisha and Neil to help me find a new one and save my old one which finally died. In exchange for their awesome help, I shot some portraits for them. Thanks guys for all your help and hope you like your pictures!

lacey and chris's engagement shoot at the guinness storehouse in dublin

Lacey and Chris, a couple from Florida who were in Ireland recently to sight-see with their family and get married at Coolcarrigan in Co Kildare (see their wedding post here), lurvvvvvvve Guinness. Who doesn't? So when I mentioned we go to the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin to do an engagement shoot, they were most definitely up for it! It was a bit dark in there, but the bright paint colors of the machines and the moody light really added a romantic look to the photos. Enjoy this post with a pint!

irish wedding magazine Confetti features my photography :), and i am listed as a contributor :)

I've been waiting to share this news for a couple months. Am very excited to be featured in the new Winter issue of Confetti magazine as a contributor (blush!), and to have some of my photos run along editorial, and to have a beautiful wedding featured as a Real Wedding! My first magazine feature was the now defunct B Magazine (miss ya guys, it was a pity to see you go because you featured many of my favorite photographers).  So this is my 2nd magazine feature, and it couldn't have been in a more beautiful inspirational issue. First of all, the amazing photographer Agata Stoinska has a stunning photoshoot in it, and some of my favorite colleagues are there too... Shane O'Neill of Aspect Photography, Pearl & Godiva Vintage China-Hire and Styling, and my good buddy and amazing photog Christina Brosnan has a shoot styled by Linda of One of a Kind Weddings
You won't regret picking up an issue as this one is full of inspiration without a bunch of ads cluttering it up. Well enough talk...here is the low down.

The very talented photographer and a good friend Christine Burns took my picture which appears in the Contributors page. Remember our photoshoot swap? Thanks Christine for your lovely photos!

The above photos were done in a photoshoot organized by the beautiful Pearl of Pearl & Godiva. If you are loving the vintage, handmade, artistic look as much as I do, Pearl is the woman to go to to make your dreams come true. She is very talented and is a wealth of information and inspiration. And she has something for every budget. She sourced the beautiful ruffled cake from uber-super The Cake Stand in Dublin. The models were the beautiful Fiona Nagle, and Julia Jensen who is the artist behind boho jewelry line Boho and Plume (the feathered earrings and necklaces in the shoot are her creations). Pearl supplied the beautiful dresses. Ann-Marie of the Art of Beauty in Cork did the make-up and Sonia of Urban Hair Design Cork did the hair.

And a little cake picture of a cake by Cake-a-licious which was taken at The Alternative Wedding Event in Dublin.

And Colorado couple Pam and Rick's destination Ireland wedding at Waterford Castle this summer. A very special ceremony with only the couple and their four children in attendance! This is my original blog post here

A big virtual hug and kiss is going out to all at Confetti Magazine! Thanks and I hope to work with you again soon :)
